Privacy Policy

What we collect

Boardfolio collects only what is needed to provide the service:

• Account information — your email address, used for sign-in via magic link.
• Profile data — handle, display name, and bio you choose to set.
• Collection data — board games you add, along with ownership status, ratings, and notes.
• Top list data — your ranked favorites and any notes attached to them.
• Usage analytics — anonymized interaction events (e.g. which features you use) collected via Google Analytics 4. No personally identifiable information is included in these events.

How we use it

Your data is used exclusively to operate Boardfolio. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use the following third-party services to power the app:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
• BoardGameGeek (BGG) — board game metadata, cover images, and player counts. Queries are made on your behalf; your personal data is not shared with BGG.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymized usage analytics to help us understand which features are working well. Data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy. IP addresses are anonymized.

BGG collection import may be temporarily unavailable when BGG requires authenticated access that is not yet integrated in Boardfolio. In that case, you can still add games individually using BGG search.

Data storage

All user data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS). Row-level security policies ensure your data is accessible only to you.

Cookies

Boardfolio uses a session cookie set by Supabase to keep you signed in. Google Analytics 4 sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish visitors for analytics purposes; these do not identify you personally. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.
